With that in mind, please give a warm welcome to Jodi Ward, our West Coast Territory Manager. Although she's relatively new to us, Jodi embodies our CyntrX values and works hard to ensure that our future customers have everything they need to take their fleet management to the next level. She's already proven herself to be a valuable member of our team, and we hope you'll enjoy getting to know her as much as we have! Q. Describe your role at CyntrX in three words.
A. Brevity isn’t my strong suit, so this question is tough! My final answer is Advisor, Advocate, & GrowthHacker. (See what I did there?)
Q. What does a typical day look like for you, and what are you currently working on?
A. I usually wake up early, check my email, and get on the road. I spend most of my time in the field meeting with prospects and customers.
Currently I’m working on a very exciting project! We are building a Reseller/Dealer program for one of our customers so they can benefit from our services directly whilst making a nice revenue stream for themselves.
Q. What's the most common challenge your customers face?
A. Managing Risk. The unfortunate truth is that vehicle accidents are inevitable when you have a large fleet. We help our customers identify risky driving behavior like tailgating or speeding so they can coach against it, but even the best drivers on the planet can’t avoid incidents 100% of the time because bad drivers like myself are on the road right next to them. That’s why I’m ecstatic about our new camera solution launching here soon. The camera evidence will eliminate fraudulent lawsuits by opportunists and help them coach their drivers on a whole new level.
(Side note- I didn’t believe I was a bad driver until I put a GPS device in my car. I just thought my husband was being a nag. It turns out he was right about my lackluster driving skills. See quote below!)
Q. What is something you learned in the last week?
A. I learned a great quote from Mark Twain last week: “What gets us into trouble is not what we don’t know. It’s what we know for sure that just ain’t so.”
Q. What is most rewarding about your job? What makes it all worthwhile?
A. The relationships. I love people. I also love trivia. So getting paid to make friends and solve complicated problems is a dream job.
Q. What's been one of your proudest moments?
A. Marrying my husband. He’s a catch and the competition was stiff!
Q. What's one thing about you few people know?
A. I have a double lobe on my left ear! I used to be self-conscious about it so I would strategically do my hair in a comb over type of fashion to cover it up. Now that I’m turning 40 I have bigger fish to fry thanks to gravity.
Q. What is your personal motto or mantra?
A. When I was an angsty 18-year-old I read a book called The Four Agreements and it changed my life! I’ve done my best to adhere to those principals ever since:
- Always do your best
- Don't make assumptions
- Don't take anything personally
- Be impeccable with your word
