DVIR stands for Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report. This critical element of the ELD mandate in the US and Canada makes the driver the ultimate arbiter of a trucks safety and compliance to be operated safely on the nation’s roadways. A DVIR must be completed before every driving event daily using a single truck. A new DVIR must be performed whenever a driver switches equipment. The report must be signed and certified each time. The CyntrX ELD application allows significant customization of the reporting form. We start with all the FMCSA recommended items for any vehicle but allow the fleet manager to add items that may be unique for the vehicle being inspected. CyntrX has specialized lists for Passenger Buses, Tankers and Ready-Mix Trucks. For reference, CyntrX includes the time that a driver takes to complete and inspection and offers a “Pass All” button if the fleet manager approves of exception reporting.
